Tour of Istria - North-west of Istria

The surrounding of Savurdrija is scarcely settled and is mostly used for agriculture. This is the place where the famous Malvazija Wine is produced. Special allurementis given by the Mediterranean vegetation and greenery, with many pine and oak forests. The Savudrija region belongs to the more peaceful vacation destinations.

The landmark of Savurdrija is the Lighthouse, made in 1826, that is still functional. It is one of the oldest lighthouses on the whole Adriatic coast, and a must visit if You come to Istria.

This prolific region is shaped by a hilly-landscape. A longtime ago the inhabitants replanted many olive and wine fields, which is still typical for Istria today. One of the most famous Wine Trails in Croatia is located here, with 23 well known winemakers. It is also a pleasure to experience the olive oiltrails, because it is possible to follow the whole procedure ofmanufacturing this famous fruit, as well as actual tasting of the finished product.
